I will try to install it on a USB, and a will use Rufus for flashing DOS onto the USB flash drive.
it is a rare windows version for a USB, because it includes the WIN.COM file
do these steps if you want to do the same:
1.get a 16-64GB USB
2.download Rufus
3.Download The win2000 iso
4.Flash FreeDOS to the USB
4.copy the files from the win2000 iso to the USB NOTE(YOU FIRST HAVE TO INSTALL IT IN A VM THEN COPY THE INSTALLED VM FILES TO THE USB)
5.boot into the USB
6.enter cd WINDOWS
7.then enter Win.com,

If anyone ever offers Windows software that "doesn't need a serial number" it's obviously pirated or otherwise k'ed. Be careful as you don't know what has been modified.

Windows 200 Profession (Service Pack 4) works just fine in VmWare and VirtualBox. No special steps or tricks required. Very straight-forward. The disc image isn't bad as everything installed just fine.

The disc I posted on Archive.org, I installed my copy of Windows 2000 in VMWare and Setup reboots at component setup (in a endless loop). If you guys are receiving this problem, sorry about that. The disc is in a good shape with nothing touched. If you guys are expecting this problem as well, please let me know in the reviews section. If you guys also know how to fix this, please also let me know.

Simple.
From a purely legal standpoint, the CD you have (the retail Windows 2000 CD) won't work with the OEM key on the COA sticker; it would violate the EULA.
Use the method above and you'll be fine. Last 3 digits of the PID in the setupp.ini to 270 and save it, create a new ISO using nLite, burn it, install, done.
Oh, and the most important part (DOH!!!): use nLite to integrate Service Pack 4 into the files before you make the CD, that way the installation will be Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 4 and then hit Windows Update for whatever it offers.
